Your snowboard deserves more than a quick edge scrape and a rub of wax. At Alpine Base & Edge, we give it the full spa treatment. Our all-mountain snowboard tune is built around our manually fed Wintersteiger SBI — a world-class stone grind machine that shapes the perfect base structure for any condition.
Whether you’re bombing groomers, chasing speed on the halfpipe, or locking in clean landings in the park, we dial in your edges and structure for maximum grip, glide, and control. This isn’t just “making it look good” — it’s precision tuning that makes your board ride better than the day you bought it.
What’s Included:
Q: How often should I get my snowboard tuned?
A: If you ride hard every week, we recommend a tune every 4–6 days on snow. Casual riders can usually go 1–2 times a season, but always tune before big trips for best performance.
Q: What’s special about the Wintersteiger SBI?
A: It’s a precision, manually fed stone grind machine that lets us control every pass. That means we can customize the base structure for speed, grip, or versatility — not just run your board through a preset program.
Q: Can you tune for halfpipe or park riding?
A: Absolutely. For halfpipe and race boards, we’ll keep edges razor sharp. For park riders, we can detune contact points to keep your board playful and catch-free.
Q: Will tuning make my board faster?
A: Yes. Fresh structure and hot wax reduce drag and improve glide. You’ll notice it most on flat spots, in sticky snow, and when you’re trying to hold speed for jumps.
Q: How long does it take?
A: Standard turnaround is next-day, but if you’re in a pinch, we can often get it done same-day. Just call ahead.
