// FAQS

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION

01 What tuning services do you offer and how much do they cost?

We offer a full range of ski and snowboard tuning: Infrared Wax ($40), Sharpen & Wax ($50), Basic Ski Tune ($65), All Mountain Ski Tune ($80), Binding Mount & Test ($90), All Mountain Snowboard Tune ($90), and World Cup Race Tune ($125). We also do Binding Adjust with Torque Test ($85), Binding Re-Mount ($90), and Core Shot Repair ($35).

02 What's the difference between a Basic Tune and an All Mountain Tune?

The Basic Tune ($65) includes a stone grind, edge sharpening, and infrared wax — great for most recreational skiers. The All Mountain Tune ($80) adds base damage repair, customized edge beveling for your skiing style, and condition-matched wax. Choose All Mountain if you ski aggressively, have base gouges, or want bevels tailored to your ability.

03 How often should I get my skis or snowboard tuned?

We recommend a full tune every 5-7 days of skiing or riding. Between full tunes, a Sharpen & Wax ($50) every 3-4 days keeps your edges sharp and base fast. If your bases look white or dry, or your edges feel dull in turns, it's time.

04 What's included in a binding mount?

Professional template drilling, DIN setting calibration based on your height, weight, boot sole length, and ability, followed by a certified release test with torque verification. We mount all major brands — Marker, Look, Tyrolia, Salomon, Atomic, and touring systems including Shift and Kingpin. We recommend a Binding Adjust with Torque Test ($85) at the start of every season.

05 What makes your infrared wax different from regular waxing?

The Basic Tune ($65) includes a stone grind, edge sharpening, and infrared wax — great for most recreational skiers. The All Mountain Tune ($80) adds base damage repair, customized edge beveling for your skiing style, and condition-matched wax. Choose All Mountain if you ski aggressively, have base gouges, or want bevels tailored to your ability.

06 How long does a tune take?

Most services are completed within 24-48 hours depending on current workload. Sharpen & Wax and Infrared Wax are often done same-day. Same-day turnaround on full tunes is available with a rush order fee of $25 per item — call (303) 443-0814 to confirm. Binding mounts need 24-48 hours for epoxy to cure.

07 Do I need an appointment?

No appointment needed. Drop off your skis or snowboard at our shop at 2709 Spruce St in Boulder anytime during business hours — Mon-Sat 10am-7pm, Sun 12pm-6pm. We'll check them in and give you a pickup time.

08 Do you work on snowboards too?

Yes. Our All Mountain Snowboard Tune ($90) includes a full base grind and repair, edge sharpening with detuning at contact points, and infrared wax. Sharpen & Wax ($50) and Infrared Wax ($40) work on both skis and snowboards at the same price. We adjust our approach for freestyle, all-mountain, splitboards, and powder boards.

09 Can you fix base damage and core shots?

Yes. Base gouges and core shots are repaired as part of any full tune using P-Tex and epoxy fill, then ground flush. For standalone repairs, our Core Shot Repair is $35. If damage is severe, we'll let you know the best path forward at drop-off.

10 Do you offer race tunes?

No appointment needed. Drop off your skis or snowboard at our shop at 2709 Spruce St in Boulder anytime during business hours — Mon-Sat 10am-7pm, Sun 12pm-6pm. We'll check them in and give you a pickup time.
