Alpine Base & Edge, was born out of ski racing and the belief that well-tuned skis make better skiers. Founded in 2005 by former U.S. Ski Team racer Peter Boyer, the shop grew into Boulder’s trusted ski shop, offering hand-finished precision that drew athletes from junior leagues to World Cup hopefuls. In 2023, Kris and Danielle Steigerwald — race parents and lifelong skiers — took the reins, expanding the business into a full-service hub with a ski rental service and expert ski repair service, all while preserving its racing DNA. Today, Alpine Base & Edge continues to merge tradition with innovation, giving skiers of every style the tools and tuning they need for their best days on snow.

We're a true full-service shop. Our rental and demo fleet spans recreational, race, and park & freeride, so you can ride the right gear for the right day. When it comes to fit, we go deep — offering custom boot fitting and boot service work to make sure your feet are dialed before you ever click in.
Beyond boots and boards, we carry a carefully chosen selection of skis, bindings, and all the gear you need to round out your kit — gloves, packs, and more.
