Boulder Creek Tubing Season

Tubing season on Boulder Creek runs late May through early September, with peak floating conditions in June and July when snowmelt from the Front Range keeps water levels ideal.

No driving, no shuttles, no hassle. We're Boulder's original tube rental shop and we've been outfitting creek adventures since day one.

No reservations needed. Walk in during business hours, grab your gear, and go. We rent tubes, kayaks, SUPs, life jackets, water shoes, wetsuits, and dry bags — everything you need for a day on the creek.

//THE ROUTE

The Float: Central Boulder

The classic Boulder Creek float takes you right through the heart of town along the tree-lined Creek Path.

The float takes 30 to 60 minutes depending on water flow — higher CFS means a faster ride. Along the way you'll pass under footbridges, alongside parks, and through downtown Boulder.

Stop by our shop at 2709 Spruce St before you go — about 5 minutes from the creek. We'll get you set up with gear, inflate your tubes, strap them to your vehicle, and point you to the best spot to drop in for the day.

Frequently Asked Questions

01 When is tubing season on Boulder Creek?

Tubing season typically runs late May through early September, with peak conditions in June and July when snowmelt keeps water levels ideal for floating. Check our Water Report for current CFS readings before you come.

02 Do I need a reservation to rent a tube?

No reservations needed. Walk in anytime during business hours, pick your gear, and go. We keep plenty of inventory so you won't get turned away on busy summer days.

03 Is Boulder Creek safe for tubing?

When conditions are right, Boulder Creek is a mellow, fun float through town. We monitor CFS (cubic feet per second) daily and won't rent when flows are too high or too low. Safe tubing range is 50–225 CFS. Under 50 is too low, 50–100 is beginner, 100–150 intermediate, 150–225 expert, and above 225 you better know what you're doing. Always wear a life jacket — it's Colorado law on many waterways. Water shoes are strongly recommended to protect against rocks.
