The Hovercraft Fakie is an ultra-low-volume inflatable SUP designed for river surfing, cartwheels, spins, and linked vertical maneuvers on whitewater. Born from 6 years of R&D and 12+ board iterations by River Skate Collective in Asheville, NC, this board brings kayak-style freestyle to stand-up paddleboarding for the first time.

Walk in to rent — no reservation needed. We have 2 of each size. Some SUP or paddling experience recommended; this board is designed for moving water, not flatwater. Our staff will brief you on the board and point you to the best local spots.

I really wanted this to work for me. 5 years ago I got a custom fitted devise (exactly the same idea as this product) from Kaiser Permanente and it definitely worked and was of very high quality plastic (unlike this one). The screws were metal inserts but three problem is that it would crack and I went through three of them in 5 years. Each cost $500! Not good. So when I saw.
