Some jobs need more than a standard tune. Our hourly shop rate covers the hard fixes — edge replacements, deep base repair, complex binding mounts, and other one-off work that requires hands-on expertise and precision tooling.
At Alpine Base & Edge in Boulder, we handle the repairs other shops turn away. Whether it is a blown-out edge on your race skis, a core shot that needs structural epoxy work, or a custom binding mount on a non-standard setup, our technicians have the experience and equipment to get it done right.
What Falls Under Shop Rate
- Edge replacement and repair — full or partial edge work on damaged skis
- Deep base repair — structural P-tex and epoxy fills beyond a standard core shot
- Complex binding mounts — custom drill patterns, re-mounts with helicoils, plate systems
- One-off custom work — boot sole trimming, race-specific modifications, specialty projects

I really wanted this to work for me. 5 years ago I got a custom fitted devise (exactly the same idea as this product) from Kaiser Permanente and it definitely worked and was of very high quality plastic (unlike this one). The screws were metal inserts but three problem is that it would crack and I went through three of them in 5 years. Each cost $500! Not good. So when I saw.
